Frequently asked questions

Your questions answered

What is Hypnosis?

Most people experience hypnosis several times a day, daydreaming is a form of hypnosis. For therapeutic purposes hypnosis is really all about relaxation. Hypnosis is a therapeutic aid and a real power for good. You cannot be made to do anything that is against your moral or ethical values. You will be in control throughout the session. You will feel extremely relaxed physically but you will remain mentally aware and alert.

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis with therapeutic techniques to access the subconscious in order to create positive change. Hypnosis speeds up the progress of psychotherapeutic therapies and can be combined with other modalities of therapy. Hypnosis is able to help the body strengthen and protect the immune system against disease, to accelerate healing and relieve stress.

Are there any side effects?

During sessions we will focus on helping you to achieve the change you want, applying the most useful psychological methods. Every session is conducted in a professional, ethical, and comfortable manner.

Clients gain insight into how the issues had been affecting their behaviour. They feel more in control, calmer, re-energised, refreshed, optimistic and more resilient to stress. Therapy is designed to help the client to understand their own reactions in order to help them be more in control of their own lives.

Can I speak during hypnosis?
With analytical hypnotherapy you will be encouraged to do so.

Can I bring a friend with me?
You can to the initial consultation. Not to the therapy session because of the confidential nature of the session.

How many sessions will I need?

During the initial consultation the most appropriate treatment for you as an individual will be discussed. The aim is to help clients access their resources, to overcome difficulties, change negative habits and unwanted feelings.

For behavioural changes, confidence boosting, habits, etc. in most cases only one session of suggestion therapy and a CD is needed.

The more complex problems require analytical hypnotherapy. This requires 4 - 8 sessions at weekly intervals, most clients have about 6 sessions for a good result.

A typical session lasts for approximately one hour.

All your treatments will be kept confidential, this includes any free consultations which may be offered. My sincere passion is working with my clients to assist them in achieving positive change for good.

Care and confidentiality at all times. Every session is conducted in a professional, ethical, and comfortable manner.
